Why I Decided to Get Sober-Curious

Have you ever wondered what it's like to live life on the edge? To dance with danger and embrace the unknown? Well, that's exactly what I decided to do when I became sober curious. Now, before you start picturing me as a boring, straight-laced individual, let me assure you that my journey towards sobriety has been anything but ordinary. It's been a wild ride filled with neurospicy behavior, medication, questionable choices, and a burning desire to live a life that feels like it flows.

What is Sober Curious Anyway?

Sober curious is not about completely abstaining from alcohol. It's about questioning our relationship with them and exploring the benefits of a more mindful approach to consumption. It's about being present and intentional in every aspect of our lives, including what we put into our bodies.

Embracing Neurospicy Behavior

One of the reasons I decided to embark on this sober curious journey was to challenge myself and embrace my recently diagnosed neurospicy behavior. What exactly is neurospicy behavior, you ask? Well, it's all about shaking things up and stepping out of our comfort zones. It's about living experiences in ways that fit you, meeting people that align, and pushing the boundaries of what we thought was mandatory. It's accepting neurodivergence while embracing it's superpower like aura. And let me tell you, it's been one spicy adventure!

Medication: Finding Balance

For me, my sober curious journey has been exploring the role of medication in our lives. Sometimes, we rely on substances to numb our emotions or escape from reality. But sometimes they are needed in order to thrive. But by getting sober curious, I've learned to find balance with and without medication. Ultimately able to accept myself openly as the human I am.

Questionable Choices: Learning and Growing

Now, I must admit, my journey was also started after a fair share of questionable choices. But isn't that what life is all about? Making mistakes, learning from them, and growing as individuals. Sober curiosity has taught me to embrace these moments of imperfection and see them as opportunities for growth. After all, life would be pretty dull if we always played it safe.

Living the Version of Me That Flows

Ultimately, the reason I decided to get sober curious was to live the version of me that feels like it flows. I wanted to be more present and happy, not just for myself but also for my kids. They deserved a mother who was fully engaged and living life to the fullest. So, I took the leap, and took it one moment at a time.

So, if you're feeling a little curious yourself, why not join me this month for Sober October? Embrace the quirky, the fun, and the humorous. Question your choices, find your balance, and live a life that feels like it flows.
